PADDI

Aim

Perioperative ADministration of Dexamethasone and Infection (PADDI) Trial aims to definitely establish the safety profile of dexamethasone in the perioperative setting. Specifically, it will address the impact of dexamethasone on surgical site infection and will be stratified according to diabetic status.

Client

Monash University, endorsed by the ANZCA Clinical Trials Network.

Funding

NHMRC (Project grant no. 1079501)

Solution

We will design and publish the CRF, and develop the eCRF and trial management web application. The target study size is 8800 adult patients.

Type

Multi-centre prospective, double blind, active control, parallel assessment, stratified, non-inferiority safety and efficacy study.

Status

Recruitment started November 2015. To register your interest visit www.paddi.org.au/.

SPICE

Aim

Determine whether Early Goal-Directed Sedation, compared to standard care sedation, reduces 90-day mortality in critically ill patients who are expected to require mechanical ventilation for longer than 24 hours.

Client

Australian & New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC)

Funding

NHMRC (Project grant no. 1043938), and National Heart Institute of Malaysia, Institut Jantung Negara (IJN).

Solution

We developed the eCRF, trial management web application and custom drug allocation and tracking module.

Type

Multicentre, international, open-label randomised controlled trial

Status

Commenced late-2013. Patient recruitment in progress. Target enrolment of 4000 subjects from over 4 countries.

PATCH Trauma

Aim

PATCH (Pre-hospital Antifibrinolytics for Traumatic Coagulopathy and Haemorrhage) is addressing uncertainties about the safety and effectiveness of early tranexamic acid for severely injured patients treated in advance trauma systems.

Client

National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI)

Funding

NHMRC (Project grant no. 1044894)

Solution

We are developing the eCRF and trial management web application.

Type

Multicentre, international, placebo controlled, blinded randomised controlled trial.

Status

Commenced mid-2014. Patient recruitment in progress. Target enrolment of 1184 from Australia and New Zealand.

NET Trial

Aim

Neurotrauma Evidence Translation (NET) Program is developing and testing strategies to increase the uptake of research into practice in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Comparing EDs implementing the latest research evidence for mTBI management, with those not using these practices.

Client

National Trauma Research Institute (NTRI)

Funding

The Victorian Neurotrauma Initiative / Transport Accident Commission

Solution

We developed the customised trial management web application including randomised cohort selection, survey distribution tracking, and staff and patient data collection with double data entry validation.

Type

A national, multi-centre, cluster randomised trial

Status

Publication phase.
